Consideration of the foundational events and historic development of Islam as a religion and culture. Attention is given to the contemporary Muslim world and dialogue with Western culture. Offered: Fall semester, even-numbered years; OBC Session 1. Liberal Atrs Curriculum: Satisfies the Global Cultures requirement.
