Description
This course explores how the foundations for ministry are set in one?s identity as a fully initiated Christian in the Catholic Church. On this basis, it develops a Catholic theology of ordained ministry which focuses on the ordained deacon. Salient theological features of this order will be explored: a Servant Christology and Ecclesiology; the Church and world dialectic; the links between word, liturgy, and charity; marriage and celibacy; and the liturgy of the hours. The goal is to set a direction for the ongoing integration of ministry, personal relationships, and spiritual practices in the life of the ordained deacon. Prerequisite: SRT180.
