Description
For the teacher of elementary math, this course focuses on the investigation of current issues, curriculum models and approaches, assessment and instructional practices, professional organizations, and literature for teaching mathematics to meet the needs of diverse elementary learners including students with high incidence disabilities. Emphasis is on approaches and materials for effective instruction and evaluation according to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and Pennsylvania Core Standards.Field experience is a required component of this course. Formal admission into the Education Program required. Clearances required. Offered: Fall semester.
