    Description

    This course focuses on the examination and application of current research-based strategies for teaching reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to children in the upper elementary school level with a focus on the PA Academic Standards in language arts. This course will emphasize strategies to connect language arts across the curriculum in order to encourage student interest in a variety of literature that is developmentally appropriate. Remediation of reading weaknesses is emphasized along with an introduction to appropriate professional literature and organizations. Field experience is a required component of this course.: Prerequisite: SED325. Spring semester. 3 credits.
